the brutality of death: Wallace was captured at Robroyston, and handed over to the English who tried him in Westminster Hall for treason and atrocities against English civilians,

He was then strangled by hanging, but cut loose while he was still alive,

emasculated and eviscerated and his bowels burnt before him, beheaded, then cut into four parts.

In August 1305, Wallace was captured at Robroyston, near Glasgow, and handed over to the English who tried him in Westminster Hall on the 23rd of August 1305 for treason and atrocities against English civilians in war, "sparing neither age nor sex, monk nor nun." He responded to the treason charge,

“I cannot be a traitor, for I owe him no allegiance. He is not my Sovereign; he never received my homage; and whilst life is in this persecuted body, he never shall receive it.

To the other points whereof I am accused, I freely confess them all. As Governor of my country I have been an enemy to its enemies; I have slain the English; I have mortally opposed the English King; I have stormed and taken the towns and castles which he unjustly claimed as his own.

If I or my soldiers have plundered or done injury to the houses or ministers of religion, I repent me of my sin; but it is not of Edward of England I shall ask pardon.”

Immediately after the show trial, which king Edward never even attended, Wallace was taken from the hall to the Tower of London, then stripped naked and dragged through the city at the heels of a horse to the Elms at Smithfield.

He was then strangled by hanging, but cut loose while he was still alive, emasculated and eviscerated and his bowels burnt before him, beheaded, then cut into four parts.

His head was placed on a pike on London Bridge and his limbs were displayed, separately, in Newcastle, Berwick, Stirling and Perth as a warning to others who may have rebelled.

It did not have the desired effect! Since his death, Wallace has obtained an iconic status far beyond his homeland. A plaque stands in a wall of St.

Bartholomew’s Hospital near the site of Wallace's execution at Smithfield. I was extremely proud to have designed a plaque which was built into the wall of St Bart’s Church, London, to mark both his execution and David R Ross’ Walk for Wallace campaign.

Sometimes, a quick beheading was the easy way out. Here, a man is pictured standing in a box, as a crowd watches his progress.

Grim & Brutal! Boxer Rebellion Execution And Torture Photos These photos of the Boxer Rebellion (1899 – 1901) are fucking brutal!!! Boxer rebels and criminals were put to death in view of the public in a very bloody way with no mercy.  These acts of brutality were done as a warning to others not to cross the state. If the man tied up in this torture device seems a little too cheerful considering his situation, there’s a reason for this. He wasn’t a prisoner.  In fact, he was a guide whom the photographer used to help demonstrate the device. A real convict on the ladder-like contraption would definitely not have been looking so serene.  Their shins would have been digging into the edge of the cross board every time they allowed their body to relax.  And they wouldn’t have been able to sit or stand but would’ve been forced to stay in that uncomfortable, hunched position for as long as the punishment dictated. The man in the photo is not a criminal. He is one of the...

THE MOST BRUTAL EXECUTION METHODS REPORTEDLY USED BY MEXICAN CARTELS.

The Most Brutal Execution Methods Reportedly Used By Mexican Cartels The Mexican Drug War - a sustained, violent conflict between powerful drug cartels and the Mexican government - has claimed an estimated 164,000 lives over the past decade.  This rampant bloodshed has torn apart cities and communities across Mexico, often taking the lives of the innocent along with those directly involved.  The Mexican cartels (The Sinaloa, Los Zetas, The Gulf Cartel, and the Knights Templar, most notably) and their known drug associates continue to escalate gratuitous acts of retaliation and often record the executions.  In 2017, the Mexican government extradited Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, a known member of the Sinaloa cartel, to the US. Guzmán faces charges of murder and laundering funds.  New York prosecutors have evidence against the alleged cartel leader, including YouTube videos in which Guzmán systematically harmed and then removed the heads of rival gang members.  In a ...
