Thirteen Chinese drug dealers were sentenced to death at a public hearing attended by 10,000 people - before eight were taken away to be executed immediately.

The men and women were convicted of supplying and selling drugs in the city of Lufeng in south eastern China's Guangdong province.

Harrowing footage shows suspects being loaded into trucks as onlookers broke down in tears.

The 'public sentencing congress' was held in the People's Sports Plaza before a crowd of 10,000 people.

A total of 18 offenders were sentenced - five were allowed to live but 13 were sentenced to death.

Eight of them were taken away to be executed immediately on June 24, according to local media reports.

The executions did not take place in public but the defendants were seen being loaded into trucks.

China executes thousands of people every year - mainly for charges of murder and drug dealing.

The most common methods used are the lethal injection or death by firing squad, but it is not know which was used in this case.

China, which executes more people than any other country, has faced international for its use of the death pentalty.

Human rights charity Amnesty International says: "The death penalty is cruel, inhuman and degrading. Amnesty opposes the death penalty at all times - regardless of who is accused, the crime, guilt or innocence or method of execution.

"Some of the countries executing the most people have deeply unfair legal systems. The top three executing countries – China, Iran and Iraq – have issued death sentences after unfair trials.

Many death sentences are issued after ‘confessions’ that have been obtained through torture."

In Guangdong province, where the executions were carried out, 58% of people favour the death penalty, according to the Dui Hua Foundation.

Two years ago 38 drug dealers were put on trial before a similar crowd of 10,000 in Lufeng.

The province is reportedly China's largest producer of methamphetamines

Sometimes, a quick beheading was the easy way out. Here, a man is pictured standing in a box, as a crowd watches his progress.

Grim & Brutal! Boxer Rebellion Execution And Torture Photos These photos of the Boxer Rebellion (1899 – 1901) are fucking brutal!!! Boxer rebels and criminals were put to death in view of the public in a very bloody way with no mercy.  These acts of brutality were done as a warning to others not to cross the state. If the man tied up in this torture device seems a little too cheerful considering his situation, there’s a reason for this. He wasn’t a prisoner.  In fact, he was a guide whom the photographer used to help demonstrate the device. A real convict on the ladder-like contraption would definitely not have been looking so serene.  Their shins would have been digging into the edge of the cross board every time they allowed their body to relax.  And they wouldn’t have been able to sit or stand but would’ve been forced to stay in that uncomfortable, hunched position for as long as the punishment dictated. The man in the photo is not a criminal. He is one of the...

ISIS ‘celebrates Eid’ by hanging ‘US spies’ from meat hooks and ‘butchering them like sheep’ ISIS released a new execution video in which they hung prisoners upside down from meat hooks and ‘butchered them like sheep’. On a day when the world celebrated Eid al-Adha and nations across the globe, including India and Bangladesh that witnessed the tragic Kashmir violence and Dhaka attacks, talked about communal harmony and peace, ISIS released a new execution video in which they hung prisoners upside down from meat hooks and ‘butchered them like sheep’.   In the sickening 12-minute video, men accused of being ‘US spies’ are filmed having their throat cut in a slaughter house in Deir ez-Zor in north-eastern Syria.  The video, named ‘The Making of Illusion’ was released on the first day of the Muslim holy time Eid al-Adha and includes short clips showing actors Simon Pegg and Tom Cruise in the movie Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.  According to reports, the video footage...

A MAN CONVICTED OF RAPING AND MURDERING A 3-YEAR-OLD GIRL WAS EXECUTED IN SANA'A.

A man convicted of raping and murdering a 3-year-old girl was executed in Sanaa on Monday in front of hundreds of onlookers, the first public execution there since 2009. "Security was very tight, because authorities were fearing a revenge attack by armed men from the Bani Matar tribe to which the girl's family belong," said Reuters photographer Khaled Abdullah, who witnessed the scene. The police van transporting Muhammad al-Maghrabi, 41, to Sanaa's Tahrir Square was escorted by five police patrol vehicles.  The execution drew a large number of onlookers, some perched up telegraph poles and many watching from rooftops. The crowd started to shout "Allah is the greatest" when Maghrabi arrived. "The man was escorted from the van to the middle of the square, and then the place turned to a complete chaos and I fought for a position to take pictures," Abdullah said. "He tried to talk to the executioner, a police officer who was calmly smoking a ciga...
